Luciano Menghini is a Los Angeles-based architect building objects. As a ceramic artist and designer, his practice is heavily informed by his formal training at SCI-Arc and his tenure at Gehry Partners.

Operating more like a prototyping lab than a traditional atelier, his studio's R&D drives his ongoing thesis, MISUSEWARE, a deliberate exploration of denied utility where expectation meets denial. His sculptural vessels, for example, challenge the fundamental promise of the object itself.The vessel like sculptures are intentionally capped, turning into amorphous forms that refuse to hold or receive.

By forcing ceramics to adopt industrial languages completely alien to the medium's history, Luciano’s studio constantly questions the very nature of utility, positioning the ceramic object not as a tool, but as a site of sculptural resistance.
