ALL PURPOSE TRAY
Dimensions
: 5 x 5 x 2 inches \ Material: Glazed Stoneware
Description: ALL PURPOSE TRAY is a continuation of his ongoing exploration of dynamic ceramics, where utility meets unpredictability.
The Tray challenges assumptions of fragility: a traditionally delicate object that responds to human touch, balancing function, tactility, and sculptural presence.

Celadon- soft off-white with subtle green hints, inspired by the ancient Chinese celadon tradition.
Volcanic- dark, metallic, and rustic; a one-of-a-kind based glaze, entirely developed by the artist.

Distributed by Postmodern Tectonics

UNTITLED - False positive glaze test scultpure
Dimensions
: 10 x 20 x 15 inches \ Material: Glazed Stoneware

Description: The Lactic un-vase is a continuation an ongoing exploration of denied utility, where expectation meets denial. The sculpture challenges the fundamental promise of a vessel: an intentionally capped, amorphous object that refuses to hold or receive. Pouring with a milky, lactic fluidity, it subverts its own utility, balancing organic tactility,
visual viscosity, and defiant closure. A container of nothing. A vessel denied.

3 VASES
Dimensions
: 10 x 20 x 15 inches \ Material: Glazed Stoneware

Description: 3 VASES is one of the precursors of denied utility, where expectation meets denial.
The sculpture challenges the fundamental promise of a vessel: three distinct forms blurred into a single, intentionally capped,
amorphous object that refuses to hold or receive. Stripped of all ornamental gloss, it subverts its own utility, balancing stark tactility, brutalist weight, and defiant closure.

2 VASES
Dimensions
: 10 x 25 x 15 inches \ Material: Glazed Stoneware

Description: 2 VASES is inspired by the statuesque silhouettes of traditional antiquities, this piece is a deliberate misreading of the classical vessel, reimagined as a collapsed monument.
While strictly retaining its utilitarian mandate, the object exists as a series of interlocking volumes caught in a perpetual state of arrested movement—a functional sculpture that
balances historic gravity with modern distortion.

B2B CUP
Dimensions: 2.95" x 3.30" x 5.00" \ Material: Glazed Stoneware

Descrption: Designed by Luciano Menghini (b.1994) and distributed by Postmodern Tectonics™, the limited edition run perfectly embodies a desire to transform the ready-made qualities of utilitarian pottery into sculptural pieces, “dimming” the familiarity of ubiquitous objects into gently legible sculptural forms. The result is one cup that appears to be in a permanent state of fusion or “cheers” with itself — a stationary object that somehow manages to oscillate in space.

TRAGUITO
Dimensions: 2" x 2.5" x 3"

Descrption: Traguito is designed for the espresso-inclined, it’s a dedicated volume for specific liquids, it fits a 2oz pour.
Through a controlled manipulation of profile, this vessel shifts between two distinct silhouettes based on the viewer’s elevation, transforming a small-scale espresso or shot glass into a sculptural object that registers as multiple perceptual forms across space.

Luciano Menghini is a Los Angeles-based architect building objects. As a ceramic artist and designer, his practice is heavily informed by his formal training at SCI-Arc and his tenure at Gehry Partners.

Operating more like a prototyping lab than a traditional atelier, his studio's R&D drives his ongoing thesis, MISUSEWARE, a deliberate exploration of denied utility where expectation meets denial. His sculptural vessels, for example, challenge the fundamental promise of the object itself. The vessel like sculptures are intentionally capped, turning into amorphous forms that refuse to hold or receive.

By forcing ceramics to adopt industrial languages completely alien to the medium's history, Luciano’s studio constantly questions the very nature of utility, positioning the ceramic object not as a tool, but as a site of sculptural resistance.
